Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2026

The short version
  • The waitlist asks for your email, plus two optional questions. That's all.
  • We use it only to tell you about SkipJar's launch and, now and then, to ask a short survey question.
  • We don't sell or share your information, and we don't use ad trackers, analytics or cookies on this site.
  • The app keeps your data on your device. There are no bank connections.
  • Want off the list or want your data deleted? Email skipjar.app@gmail.com.

Who we are

SkipJar is operated by its founder, an individual based in New York, USA ("we", "us"). This policy covers this website (the landing page and waitlist) and the SkipJar app.

What we collect on the waitlist

When you join the waitlist, the form sends exactly these fields:

FieldRequired?What it is
EmailYesYour email address, so we can contact you about the launch.
"Where does your money leak most?"OptionalOne choice from a list (e.g. coffee & drinks, delivery apps). Helps us decide what to build first.
"Would you pay $24.99/yr for Pro?"OptionalYes / Maybe at a lower price / Only the free version. Helps us set pricing.

The form also contains two technical fields that don't hold personal information: a hidden form label (form-name) and a hidden spam trap (bot-field) that real people leave empty.

Like any website, our host also receives standard technical data when you visit or submit the form, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site and filter spam (see below). We don't use it to identify or profile you.

Cookies and analytics

This website doesn't set cookies, doesn't run analytics or advertising scripts, and doesn't load third-party trackers. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first.

Who processes your data

The site and waitlist form are hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). Netlify stores form submissions on our behalf as a service provider, and runs automated spam filtering on them using Akismet (operated by Automattic). See Netlify's privacy policy and Automattic's privacy policy. We may also use an email service to send launch updates. If we do, we'll name it here before we start.

How we use it

We will not sell, rent or trade your information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers above (and if the law requires it).

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist data until you ask us to delete it, or until 12 months after SkipJar launches, whichever comes first. If we decide not to launch, we'll delete the list. Every email we send will include a way to unsubscribe.

Your choices and rights

Whatever state or country you live in, you can ask us to:

Email skipjar.app@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm the request came from your email address. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

California and other US state privacy laws

Some state laws, like California's CCPA, give residents rights to know, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing". We don't sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we don't use it for targeted advertising. The rights above are available to everyone, whether or not a particular law applies to us.

If you're in the UK or EU

Children

SkipJar isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

We collect as little as we can, keep it with reputable providers, and limit who can access it. No method of storing or sending data is perfectly secure, but we'll tell you promptly if a problem ever affects your information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also email the waitlist before it takes effect.
