About these terms

These Terms of Use apply to this website, the waitlist, and any preview version of the SkipJar app (together, the "Service"). SkipJar is operated by its founder, an individual based in New York, USA ("we", "us"). By using the Service or joining the waitlist, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

The waitlist

• Joining is free. It lets us email you about SkipJar's launch, product updates and the occasional optional survey. You can unsubscribe any time.
• SkipJar is in development. We don't guarantee that it will launch, when it will launch, or which platforms it will support.
• Prices, plans, free trials and features shown on this site are a preview. They may change or not be offered at launch. Any purchase will be governed by the terms shown at the time, through the App Store or Google Play where applicable.

Not advice

• SkipJar is a tool to help you pause and think about a purchase. It isn't a bank, financial adviser, tax adviser, investment adviser or medical provider.
• Figures such as "hours of work", "% of your goal" and "10-year value" are rough estimates based on what you enter. The 10-year figure uses an illustrative 7% annual return, which isn't guaranteed. Actual results will differ.
• Food and drink notes (calories, sugar, caffeine, swaps) are general information about typical servings. They aren't medical or nutrition advice and may not fit your needs. Talk to a qualified professional about your health, money or taxes.
• You're responsible for your own spending and financial decisions.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

• sign up anyone without their permission or use a fake or someone else's email;
• submit spam, automated or bulk sign-ups;
• try to disrupt, overload, hack or reverse-engineer the Service; or
• use the Service for anything unlawful.

We may remove sign-ups or block access that breaks these rules.

Intellectual property

The SkipJar name, logo, website, app, text and design belong to us or our licensors. You can use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, resell or redistribute it without our permission. Anything you enter in the app stays yours. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely and without obligation to you.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise the Service will be error-free or always available, or that it will help you save any particular amount.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, savings, data or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

Ending things

You can leave the waitlist any time by unsubscribing or emailing us. We may change, pause or discontinue the waitlist or the Service at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we'll email the waitlist. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
